Okay here is yet another way of doing this, choices are always good hehe.
Open up the image you want to use.
Click CTRL+A to select the image.
Go to Image >> Mode >> Indexed Color
You should get a pop up, now on the pop up set it up like this, then click OK:
Next go to Image >> Mode >> RGB
Click CTRL+V to paste original pic on top of new one.
Now on your Layers Palette, with the top layer selected change your mode options to Overlay.
You can now lower the opacity of the bottom layer to about 60 or whatever you feel looks good for your image.
Your done, don't forget to save your work!
